Raj has over twenty five years of experience in financial markets and investment banking across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Americas (deal origination, structuring, risk and capital management) of which the last 17 years have been in Asia (Tokyo/HK/Singapore). Most recently, Raj was Head of Balance Sheet Origination (APEA) in the Institutional Portfolio Management Group at ANZ Bank. Prior to this, he was a Managing Director in Deutsche Bank’s Global Markets division as Head of Securitisation for Asia; a member of the Asian Global Markets Management Committee and a Board Director of Deutsche Securities Ltd in HK. Earlier he headed the Financial Institutions Group for Asia – Pacific at Barclays Capital. Raj moved to Tokyo from London to start the Asset Finance group in Asia-Pacific for CSFB. He started his banking career with Bankers Trust, London, where he held positions on the Investor Syndicate, Balance Sheet Arbitrage and Capital Markets execution desks. Raj trained and practised as a corporate/M&A lawyer with Clifford Chance and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Raj has a LL.B from Southampton University (First Class Hons.) and an MBA from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick in England.
